On October of 2020, I was lucky to have a trip for 2nd time in my life into K’gari Island a.k.a. Fraser Island. The word K’gari means “Paradise” in First Nation language. The drawing came to me while I was chilling at Lake Boorangoora (Waters of Wisdom) a.k.a. Lake McKenzie, going into a deep explorative state, the curves were there asking to be followed by the pencil on the paper, connecting with the warm sand, the pristine waters, the dancing bush and it’s sensual ritual, the intense blue sky with the bright australian sun, all converging together, gifting me so much power, strenght and healing, reconnecting somehow with my ancestors… I remember prior to the time of that journey, I was in a phase of self questioning. To have made space for myself and do this journey into the wild nature with great company helped me so much to remember how amazing is my life and all around me. Even when things can go really challenging and unpleasant, inside and out of me, I have the blessed chance to chose if I want to reconnect with this inner paradise in me or not. Nature has shown me many paradises, as a reminder to hopefully chose my own, to enter it whenever I need it, whenever I want it, is just a matter of choice at any moment, place, or emotional state…and even if I do not choose it, paradise will be there waiting for me on my next choice, on my next journey…
