A tribute to the piscean community… One day I came up with the idea of making a mural at my Abueli’s (Naan’s) place. This mural is the first official one I ever did. Maybe I did a couple before. But this one is the first one I do “professionally”. My Naan came up with the spot where the mural is located, at the terrace of her house, from where you can see the sun and moon rising and with the idea of what this mural should be. She and I are Pisces star sign, so she thought it would be a good to make a representation of the 2 flowing in different direction fishies. So as a honoured Piscean (under the sun and moon), I could not resist! While I was working on the “assessment”, Abueli gifted me a beautiful lapizlazuli and silver pin that my dearest Grandpa gifted to her once. This pin was great inspiration for me to nailed my proposal. Because I never did a professional mural before, I dove deep into what it was to make a proper one, yes! with a grid and everything. It took me a while to master this helpful system because I dislike measurement and squares to make a drawing, I am an organic illustrator, but I have to give credit to this old technique because once it is properly done, the results in regards to the original sketch are awesome, plus I learnt something new that probably I will never forget how to do it after 3 failed attempts. The size of the mural I would say is small compare to what usually a mural is, but it was the perfect size for me to start with. My idea was kind of imprint the ying and yang energies into it. I mostly felt like a 5 year old kid, according to me best age ever, spreading colours into a wall with no blame while I was doing it. So guess what? I can do murals as well.
